Hong Zhang Durandal is the founder and Head of Development at Energy Hunters INC and Co-founder of RioNadi Energy LLC, where he leads innovative renewable energy projects. With over 10 years of industry experience, Hong has overseen the development of more than 4 GW (more than $500 Million) of energy assets across the U.S. and Latin America, covering solar, wind, and energy storage technologies. His expertise spans the entire lifecycle of energy projects, from development to full operation.
Hong has successfully guided the deployment of EV charging stations along key national corridors, securing over $5 million in Federal and State funding. His leadership has been critical in the execution of projects on time and under budget. He brings a unique blend of technical, financial, and project management skills, having managed multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
In addition to leading Energy Hunters, Hong serves as the Associate Director at Zelestra. He holds degrees in Public Policy and Economics from the University of Chicago and in Finance from Berea College, and a Master’s in Hydrogen Technology from Federico Santa María Technology University in Chile. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, Hong is based in Houston and enjoys writing, soccer, calisthenics, and chess in his free time.
